The following graduate Educational Psychology specialization programs/tracks are offered within the Learning and Developmental Sciences degree.

  • Doctoral Program - the Educational Psychology specialization program at Indiana University trains scientists and scholars to teach courses and do research in the area of  educational psychology. Educational Psychologists at IU conduct research on substantive problems in the area, and/or provide consultation and other services to a wide variety of individuals, groups, and agencies concerning issues in human development or learning in or outside the classroom. In this program, students will explore issues surrounding the learner and the processes of acquiring, storing, and accessing knowledge; the conditions of learning, instruction and their relation to learner outcomes; and how development interplays with learning.
  • Masters Program - the Masters program gives students a basic grounding in Educational Psychology. This 36 hour program includes theoretical as well as applied course work.
  • Doctoral Minor - a minor in Educational Psychology may be taken by doctoral students majoring in other disciplines. Under the direction of a faculty advisor, minor students must complete 12 credit hours of course work in either development or learning and cognition and take a qualifying examination.
  • Undergraduate - there is no undergraduate major in Educational Psychology.  Instead, undergraduate educational psychology courses are typically taken by students learning to be teachers.
