Obedience versus Responsibility
The critical moment came when I asked my calendar helper to call on a friend to help her answer a question that I had asked. Feeling Safe in Lockdown
Thursday, shortly after the class arrived from lunch, the principal came over the intercom and told us the school was in lockdown. Flexibility: Not According to the Plan
The students were going to have to learn both how to count money and how to make change with money. My supervising teacher explained to me that money should be review for them so it shouldn't be too hard. He could not have been more wrong. My first lesson went well and they seemed to fully grasp how to count money, however my second lesson on making change was a disaster. Read the full story...

The Emotional Roller Coaster Ride
Tuesday last week my students discovered some baby bunnies on the playground. The bunnies were burrowed into the mulch and were not old enough yet to even move on their own. Wednesday the students had a half day so there was no recess for the day. Read the full story...
